Fuel Processor & Fuel Cell System
  • As a strategic partner of the Bloom Energy, U.S.A., Kaori manufactures and supplies the Hotbox module for the Blooms SOFC system. Kaori is devoted to develop products for the fuel cell market, and is currently focusing on its fuel processor products.
  • Fuel cell is a green energy generator that provides electricity using current infrastructure fuel such as natural gas. Its thermal energy can be further recovered for hot water and space heating. A typical home installed with a fuel cell system is shown below. Two major genres of fuel cell are: the Solid Oxide Fuel Cell (SOFC) that operates at 700~900J, and the Proton Exchange Membrane Fuel Cell (PEMFC) that operates at 60~160J.

    Fuel cell has the advantages of:
    (1) highly energy efficient, up to 90%.
    (2) minimal pollution.
    (3) potentially grid independent as part of a distributed-generation network.

  • In a fuel processor natural gas is converted to a hydrogen-rich gas, which is then fed to fuel cell stack to generate electricity. Hot water is generated by heat recovery through a plate heat exchanger within the fuel cell system.

  • Kaori has established a Fuel Processor Laboratory to develop kW class fuel processor using natural gas as fuel. Our developmental efforts include fuel processor design, manufacturing, performance testing, and PEMFC system integration and testing. Our goal is produce a competitive natural gas fuel processor for the marketplace.
